Ready OST Review

By now everyone would have heard the "Character Dheela" song from Ready and it proves to be a banger of a track, expect it to play almost anywhere and everywhere with almost everyone claiming to identify with the main tag line. Oh yes it could have been my pick of the album if not for "Dhinka Chika" which is what you call a total dhinchak song. Expect a whole barrage of remix dropping soon and is going to be the show stopper track of Ganpatti (according to a friend of mine).
Rahat Fateh Khan swoons through "Meri Ada Bhi" with the usual elegance and is nice listen while "Humko Pyaar Hua" the romantic melody, sung by KK and Tulsi Kumar, brings in the ballad aspect to the album.
Then you find a remix version for all the tracks and disappoint they do not either. All in one, the songs have just made us eagerly awaiting the movie. Yes, we are Ready!

Top Ten Amitabh Bachchan Songs Contd....

Song #2.
Pag Ghunghroo Bandh
Things don't get more entertaining than this, AB owned this song and you can't imagine anyone ever out doing the man himself when it would come to this song. The lyrics, the music, the dance and the expression by the MAN himself still has everyone getting into the splits with laughter everytime we see it. Did I mention the expressions?

Song #1.
Saara Zamana -

The original Rockstar of Indian cinema, the man with the light costume, oh yes those lights on the costumes, weren't they something.

Song #5.
Yamma Yamma -
R D Burman brings in his voice for AB and it simply rockssss.....

Song #4.

Chal Mere Bhai -

Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor did some amazing work together and their chemistry (if I may use that word) got the audiences coming back for more. A drunk AB was always entertaining.

Song #3.
Jahan Teri Ye Nazar Hai
The ultimate theft song, for what else can we term this. Ah the camaraderie or the lack of between the theives and who gets to steal the necklance.

Song #6.
Jumma Chumma Dede -
No collection of AB songs can be complete without this one. Everyone loved this track and there were quite a few who hated that they loved it.

Song #5.
Rote Hue Aate Hain Sab -
This is one of the philosophical warped melody which we all lapped up with both hands. When it comes on while on a long drive you can't help but join in singing.....

Song #8.
Apni Toh Jaise Taise -
There was something about Kishore Kumar singing for AB which provided the zing in the songs. The energy of the song sure makes you move.

Song #7

Khai Ke Paan Banaras Wala
Mention "Don" and its hard not to mention the Paan Banaras waala, no amount of advertising could match to this and this came at no charge for the banaras paan waalas.

Top Ten Amitabh Bachchan Songs

Amitabh Bachchan, the man, the legend! The original "Angry Young Man" of the Indian cinema who epitomised this with movies like Zanjeer and Deewar. The line "Mard ko dard nahi hota" is still mouthed by the youngsters today.
This being my space, is well my choice of the best AB songs and though it is hard to bring in justice by just picking 10 songs from a man whose career spans out for the last 40 years and is still going strong, I shall try my best. So without further ado, lets start with the songs.

Song # 10.

Sadde Naal Raho Ge -
The movie Mrityudaata might have tanked but it sure made us dance with this number

Song # 9.

My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves -

From Amar Akbar Anthony, where the first thing comes to mind is Amitabh Bachchan's drunk scene where he is talking to himself in the mirror. This is one feel good song.

Ready Promo

Salman Khan has been in the news for "Ready" for sometime and the new song promo gives us a bit of an insight of what to expect and disappointed we are surely not. The song is already become a viral hit on the social networking websites and I have seen quite a few of "Ishq ke naam pe karte sabhi abh raas leela hai....Main karoon toh saala character dheela hai" status updates on facebook to feel the popularity of it already. The video looks pretty entertaining and we can't wait to watch the movie already.....

Mere Saathiya

There is something about these new Pakistani bands and sad songs, its like the hearts are broken dime a dozen there nowadays. Having said that, the songs come out so well you can't help but listen to them. The lyrics are simple yet deep and meaningful, the emphasis on the key words strong and the music just laps it all up perfectly. The other thing to note is that most of the songs are sung in the Rock version which puts a blitz of energy through it and you are suddenly head bopping as opposed to sitting down all mellow and feeling rather blue. Roxen has a list of song which are high energy yet if you listen carefully to the lyrics, there is a whole lot of emotion in them.
This song is my current favourite and it incidently has both a fast version and a slower version. Its called "Mere Saathiya" and Mustafa Zahid (lead singer of Roxen) has nailed it.

Teri Deewani

There are some songs which you listen to once and it stays with you, the years go on yet somewhere in the back of your mind it still lingers....the music still plays the lyrics still roll and when you do go back to listen to it, it still brings out the smile that was there when you first heard it. Teri Deewani by Kailash Kher is one of those songs which never goes old and everytime you listen to it its still as fresh as the first time. The talent of Kailash Kher can't be doubted for once but the way he brings in the rustic feel to this song is a class apart. The music is kept simple yet enchanting and you could keep this song on repeat and just leave it playing in the background.
The music video is something which I stumbled upon very recently, and was pleasantly surprised to how well it was made. It comprises of anger, sadness and yet in the end there is a sort or probably sense of happiness. So without further ado, here is the song.

Chalo Dilli

Just heard the tracks from the new movie called Chalo Dilli which stars Lara Dutta and Vinay Pathak. There are 8 songs of which 2 are remix versions.
The title track "Chalo Dilli" sung by Raja Hasan is pretty peppy with nice energy to it. A minute into the song and you are almost ready to pack your bags and go to Delhi. The vocals by Raja Hasan hit the mark and you can expect to put this on repeat at least onece. You can see the remixes for this track coming soon and in droves.
Then there's "Matargashtiya" sung by the man himself Sukhwinder Singh and this track is something which he might have sung half asleep and it still has that usual zest that almost all of his songs have. Even though I have no clue what matargashtiya means I couldn't help singing while it was playing and chances are you would too.
Then, like the trend picking up in Bollywood, we find a track which is a remake of "Laila o Laila" and while not expecting much from it (after listening to the remake of Dum Maaro Dum) I was slightly surprised to finish the song from start to the finish and not flinching. Although in my opinion this is still the weakest song in the whole album. The song "Hi 5" has Neeraj Sridhar doing his trick and will have you have humming it and moving your shoulders to it while "Kaun si Badi Baat" by Kamal Heer is more of the melodious track and expect this to go on repeat too. The only downside of getting this album would be (and this applies to people who don't live there already)the cost associated in getting to Delhi as it really does tempt you to "Chalo Dilli".

Dholna

It was 16 years ago that a young kid hit the music scene with his first album called Zindagi. He went on to compose more music but personally this song from his first album remains my favourite till date. The music, the beats, the vocals and the lyrics all just fell into place to make a song which I have listened to all over these years. They say love and hope go hand in hand which pretty much sums up this song and if you put yourself in your teens growing up in the 90s you might relate to the video also.

Zindagi - The Life

There was a bit of confusion in my head as to how I should kick off this first entry and what song should feature. All that got sorted out pretty quick when this song started playing while I haphazardly dwindled about in my head. Yes, this had to be the song to start this new musical adventure.

Zindagi by Atif Aslam

This song was in the first album released by Atif Aslam who had hit the Indian music scene with a bang and we loved that voice from the instant we heard the first lines of "Aadat". This song in particular brings with it a high of emotions, the ray of light the beacon of hope with lyrics that entwine the positivity with the hope of colour, the hope that is life. Yes, it shows us a dream, a dream to ask for happiness and make sadness history. I will now let you enjoy this song as much as I have.

P.S: The cricket theme of the video just happens to be a co-incidence yet one which matches the current mood for it has been a few days but the spirits still soar.

Welcome and be Amused

Hello and welcome to my new blog dedicated to music. I will be sharing my two notes about the new music being released, what is out there currently and going back in time to bring out the music I loved as a kid.
They say what is life without music, and it couldn't be more a fact for just imagining a world without it makes life not worth living at all.
So lets start a journey with the bass blowing out, the note touching high and the melody taking over. Let the music take over and amuse us all......
