Welcome back to Sunday's Random 5 songs....where I list 5 random songs playing on my list. Enjoy!

1. Judai - Falak
    This was being promoted as a soundtrack from Jannat 2 on YouTube, it wasn't in the album but still makes
    for a good song and Falak is giving us better music lately.

2. Nindiya Re - Kaavish (Coke Studio Season 4)
   Coke Studio always springs some surprise or the other on you and this one was just that and it was pulled
   off perfectly to say the least.

3. Pareshaan (Remix Version) - Ishqzaade OST
    This track, at least for me, is the stand out track of the whole album. It reminds you of "Fanaa" but that's
     only because of the style of singing. Definitely one of those tracks that can be put on repeat.

4. Lambi Judai Acoustic Version - Kamran Ahmed
    Kamran Ahmed sang the song Lambi Judai for the movie Jannat in 2008 and it was a chartbuster and
    now he has just done an acoustic version as the music for Jannat 2 has released. Co-incidence or
    marketing ploy? Who cares its an awesome song and that's where we'll leave it.

5. Teri Yaadein
     Now this track is my current favourite and has been on repeat for the last two days. I initially thought Atif
     Aslam had sung this but the news coming out is that its a new singer called Shrey Singhal (who happens
     to be a big fan of Atif) who has sung it. The link on YouTube mentions it being a song from Aamir Khan's
     Talaash but that it just speculation.

Junoon's 20th Anniversary Album

So a few months ago I did a Junoon compilation on their 20 years in the business and I recently was listening to the album that has various artists performing the Junoon songs. Although, I personally think that none of them can be as good as the way Junoon did it but some of them are pretty good in their own rights. Here are a few songs from that album

So it's that time again, where I very randomly decide that I need to post some very random songs playing on my machine right now. The reason that they are random is because they have somehow, from some switch in my head started playing and then I needed to listen to it to vanish the voices from my head.......don't judge me it happens to the best of us! :)

Wanna Be My Chammak Challo :)

So Akon probably wouldn't have imagined how much the track Chammak Challo would have taken off when he would have agreed to sing the song. The song probably has about the same or even more remixes than he has songs and that is not an over-statement, just go on YouTube and do a search and there are many not uploaded there.
Well, the song is, in my opinion at least, the best thing out of the whole project and so I thought I would compile a collection of the remixes I liked which are out there...starting with the original version of course! :)

Vital Signs

The pop scene in Pakistan got going much before it hit the shores of India and goes back even before Junoon was formed, in fact, Salman Ahmed who formed Junoon came from a band that was among on the best bands of its time. That these guys knew their music is still evident today with Salman Ahmed having formed one of the most popular south Asian band till date and Ruhail Hyatt producing the ever mesmerising Coke Studio currently.

Today we lost another legend, a man whose voice brought life to words. A voice which could be identified amongst the rest. The world of Ghazal has lost one of its pillars and we have lost one of the best singers in India with the passing away of Jagjit Singh. I have to admit when I saw the trailer of Rockstar I was not impressed one bit. I thought it looked very mediocre yet after hearing the snippets of the songs from the movie, I am really looking forward to the music release.
This song just comes across as an Anthem at the moment and man does it make a statement. Its been on repeat since the last 5 days and yet I tire not of it.

Ganesh Hegde drops his latest "Let's Party" track

Ganesh Hegde just came out with the title track of his latest album and the video features Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif.
The song at first sounds pretty average although have to say the tempo and intensity increases after the first 2 minutes yet the video is brilliant and Ganesh does bring on what he does best - Dance! It's always fun to see him dance and when he has a Hrithik with him the dancing gets that way better (although sorry to break it out to you but Hrithik does not dance that much in the video).

Father's Day Special

Fathers are a very unique specimen, they are strict yet they are soft, they are angry yet they love you a lot, they are stern yet they give in to all your wishes. Yes, the love they sometimes don't show openly is too immense to be weighed.
They are there for you everytime you fall, they pick you up shake off the dirt and make everything alright. He's your best friend even though you might not realise it and you can't help but idolize him and try and act like him. Love you Dad!

Time again for another random five songs for a laid back Saturday afternoon. Lets kick it on then.

Mausam - Music Review

The music of Mausam, Pankaj Kapur's directorial debut with son Shahid and Sonam as the lead cast, got released last week. Pritam is at the helm of music department and this time he surprises us with a bit of a different feel.
The trailers are out and the song featured is Rabba Main Toh, a nice romantic feel good track sung by Shahid Mallya.
This is followed by the banger of the track Sajh Dajh Ke sung by Mika and has that energy filled fun factor flowing through the whole songs. There are two remix versions within the album so in a couple of weeks the remix factories are going to go ablaze with this one.
Hans Raj Hans has come back to the fore with Ik Tu Hi Tu Hi, which if you have caught the trailer has the intro music of it. It has a very folk feel to it and this makes it a great song and on a lazy afternoon you would not mind it playing in the background while you rest up on your lazy couch. The we have Poore Se Zara Sa Kam Hai sung by Rashid Ali and the sargam is flowing with this one with its vocals what the song it all about with the raags raised and brought down beautifully.
Aag Lage Us Aag Ko gives us the mix of the folk and dance genre which is heavy on the beats of the dhol. There is something enchanting with the song which is hard to describe, you have to listen to it to experience it.
The last song of the album is Mallo Malli sung by Tochi Raina and this is my pick of the song from the list although the majority would be odds with me on this and fair enough but I like the melody and flow of the song and have no idea what in the world Mallo Malli means but it sounds snazzy and the feel of the music makes you want to dance. You again have two remix versions of the song with one done by Lehmber Hussainpuri and Hard Kaur which again brings two different style of singers and Lehmber, not just because I think he is an awesome singer, kills it on the vocals. Big up track this one!
Mausam brings the punjabi folk, bhangra and dance music and infuses each other with the best results. Definitely a good album to have.

Choomantar

Ok so I mentioned in the review of the MBKD that this was my pick of the songs and well I really am digging this song at the moment. Its been playing on my system on repeat for the last one week and I simply love it!

So Akshay Kumar and gone on to snag another international medley with Ludacris singing along the Punjabi tune belted out by RDB for his home production Breakaway.
By the sounds of it, this song is going to pick up and go viral. What is your thought on it?

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan - Music Review

Ah yes, I had been waiting for this album for some time now, well ever since I heard the title track and it really is a peppy number. The video also is pretty snazzy with Imran copying his maamo (Aamir) and Salman's dance moves in the song. Its very hummable and you will like it on the first hear no doubts.
Then comes Dhunki sung by Neha Bhasin which kind of falls in the punk rock meets bollywood peppered with the hindi punjabi thrown in. Neha has sung it in a very rustic voice and again you can put it in the background and be head bopping without realising it. The comes Choomantar, which is my favourite track of the album, sung by Benny Dayal and Aditi Singh Sharma. This one is a very peppy track and you are going to be singing this song the second time you listen to it and you will put it on repeat at least once.
Rahet Fateh Ali Khan sings Isq Risk with the usual aplomb we are used to from him, a nice soothing track. Ali Zafar has one track in the movie which is by the sounds of it, going to be the item number, and Ali Zafar is a proven singer even though he's still making his mark in the movies and you can sense from the song with the way he changes the tempo all through this song. Then you have Do Dhaari Talwar, which kind of falls in the qawalli pop rock theme and like the rest of the tracks does not disappoint at all.
All in all, a very well composed album and Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy please take a bow as after doing a brilliant work on Zindagi Na Millegi Dobara, you guys have taken out another banger of an album with sounds poles apart! I would recommend it as a must have album.
